If you're anywhere near Foligno, don't miss Trattoria del Corso. And make sure you book a reservation. It's such a bargain. We were a party of four and every single thing we ordered was delicious – including the local wine, and freshly homemade desserts and coffee. With only about 18 chairs inside, and a friendly staff, Trattoria del Corso just oozes charm. It's like eating at your nonna's house – if your nonna was a world-class chef. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal so much.
The BEST food we had in Umbria, and better than many fancy-pants restaurants in Bologna, Napoli, & Rome. (I know, I know . . . regional cuisine is different depending on where you are . . . but I'm drawing the comparison based on quality and tastiness of the food.) We literally ate here every single day that we were in Umbria. So tasty and yet affordable. I was a little embarrassed that we would return every night without a reservation. But my husband was like, why be embarrassed? Their food is so good, and they're so used to us, they'll probably just laugh when they see us. And they did. Lovely trattoria experience. Mio marito and I will treasure our excellent meals at this family-run gem.
Everything is cooked ina giant wood-fired oven in the heart of the restaurant. Food was absolutely wonderful. The owner and the chef both came out to welcome us and all gotta things were. Nice to sit outside, too!
Very good food and vine! Good prices to! The place it is very nice and clean but it is not a restaurant for special events. Anyway I recommend it for the food.
My husband and I were lucky enough to have two wonderful meals at this beautifully tucked away restaurant. Both were rock star. Would recommend for a delicious treat
